PAYROLL DEDUCTION SCHEDULE
Employee Account
Authorized payroll deductions are tallied and forwarded to the Payroll Department on a regular, predictable, schedule. For employees
paid on a biweekly schedule, this deduction occurs every 14 days. All spending during this time is tallied and submitted on the Tuesday prior to the last
day of the pay period. For those paid on a monthly schedule, this deduction is submitted to payroll on the 20th of each month.
An example of each is shown below.
BIWEEKLY SCHEDULE:
Example 1
- Employee received a paycheck on Friday, December 21, 2007.
- The last working day of this pay cycle was Saturday, December 15.
- Deductions were tallied on Thursday, December 13, and submitted to the Payroll Department.
The deductions for the pay check on December 21 were for the 14 day period of November 29 - December 13.
MONTHLY SCHEDULE
Example 2
- Employee received a paycheck on the last working day of the month, December 31, 2007.
- Deductions were tallied on December 20th and submitted to the Payroll Department.
NOTE: Payroll deductions are tallied each month between the 20th and the 24th.)
In this example, deductions are for the month long period from November 20 - December 19.
